Concept Quizzes
There will not be any chapter quizzes in geometry, instead the school year is broken down by key concepts.  After learning each concept there will be a series of three short quizzes given in class.  In addition to the three offered in class, students have the opportunity to study and complete three additional "retake" quizzes.  The best score is the score that goes in the gradebook.  Essentially, each student has 6 opportunities to earn a 100% on each concept.
Each quiz will be worth 6 points in the grade book but will only have 5 points on the quiz.  The way to earn all 6 points is to demonstrate 100% mastery of the concept twice (be that on the in-class or "retake" opportunities).
In order for a student to take advantage of "retake" quiz opportunity, he or she must show me they have spent time studying/relearning the concept.  That can be done by review old quizzes with me and working additional practice problems.  Students may not complete a retake the same day they study with me. They must sign up with me at least one school day in advance of when they wish to take it (they do not need to sign up to study).

Grade Break-Down:
Concept Quizzes: 75% of the quarter grade
Homework: 25% of the quarter grade
**The Semester Test is worth 15% of the Final Semester Grade**

Classroom Expectations:
-    Always show respect towards your fellow classmates and me or any other teacher
-    Come to class prepared – all materials and completed homework assignments
-    Give your best effort! I know math is most likely not your favorite or easiest subject but you will be amazed what you can learn when you put in some effort.
-    Ask questions and come in for help if you are struggling!  I am available most days before and after school.

Absences:
-    It is your responsibility to get the notes and assignments missed when you are absent from the class website or Absent Work Bin.
-    You have 2 days per day of absence to make up missed work (up to 6 days).  Tests or quizzes missed also need to be made up in this time period (must be completed before or after school or during study hall).
-    If you miss school due to a school activity you are required to get all make up work prior to the absence.  It is expected that you will return to class with required materials completed.

Late Work:
Most assignments are due the next class period. Assignments not completed the day they are due will be graded as late.  All late assignments grades are subject to a reduced grade.
